Customer Review: Husband kind of gift
A gadget for the men, even though women could get use out of it but nice to find something that they like and use. Carries with him in vehical all the time. He said it is something useful and a very clever item.
Customer Review: Unfortunately, too light for a doorstop.
Got one of these for Christmas, plugged it in to charge, and left it for about two weeks. Then I tried it with my cell phone charger- it would have none of that. Tried a very small table radio. Nope. Finally charged my iPod Nano... for about four minutes before falling over dead. Now it's heading to take up landfill space.
Chicago Electric Power Tools may not be at the top of list for best tool companies, but it still manages to stand on its own. It's sold mainly through retail chains, one of them being Harbor Freight Tools, a well-known retailer in the United States and United Kingdom.
The tools that Chicago Electric produces serve mostly those who like to do a little bit of work around the house rather than professionals. That doesn't mean it doesn't have an impressive line of general-purpose tools, cordless tools, air-powered tools and accessories. If you are looking for value for your money, you can't go wrong with Chicago Electric Power Tools.
But, one facet to the power tools industry Chicago Electric has not catered to is the automotive aspect. Automotive tools are really important, since they're used to maintain and fix cars. Because of that, buying a full set of automotive tools might set you back quite a few dollars.
However, having a set of car tools might prove to be a worthy investment, especially if your car is the type that needs regular tune-ups. You can't keep paying a mechanic to do that for you.
There are several items that are needed when performing a car checkup, and to name a few, there are fuel injector pulse testers and fuel injection probes. These are needed to check and fix the brakes. There are also, suction cups (needed to hold the doors up), specialty knives and locking strip tools.
If you rather leave the heavy lifting to the mechanic, you shouldn't forsake yourself of a few automotive tools. While, it's cheaper to buy a whole set, you might not need to use most of the tools offered.
If you prefer quality over quantity, buy your automotive tools separately. Screwdrivers (both flat head and Phillips), crescent wrench, pliers, torque wrench, pocket knife, and jumper cables are a good start. If you want to be more prepared, add battery terminal brushes, spare fuses, one quart of oil, duct tape, flashlight, gloves, medical kit and road flares into the mix. These should be place in the boot compartment of your car to be easily obtainable.
