Nice idea - defective product out od the box. Poor instructions as to needing to fill oil well full to get it to run more that 10 seconds. Ilearned you have to turn it on it's side to fill it. Problem then is that gas poors out. Not very good idea.

I was originally looking at one of the Honda inverter generators. But the price was too high. I have no doubt that it is a good unit, but it was more than i was willing to spend. That's when I started looking at this generator. I'm using it to power a 14" band saw and a 13 " planer (only one at a time ; ). Though it does shudder a little when starting the planer (and I do mean only a little), once it's running it has NO problem keeping up. My workshop is in my garage in the middle of an apartment complex, so the sound was also of concern. This thing at idle is quiet enough that you cant tell it's running from 15-20 feet away. At full throttle (smart throttle off) you can talk (not yell) over it (when you are standing right next to it. I'll update this if it gives me any problems, but I really don't see that being a problem.
